Hello all! About a week ago I turned in my application for the Fall Disney College Program. Almost immediately after submitting my application I received an email from Disney saying that it was time to participate in a web-based interview. The web interview took about 30 minutes at the most and, I thought, it was very simple and easy. Disney is looking for positive, energetic, happy, and somewhat accomplished students - So just being honest did the trick for me.
After the web interview was done, a received another email stating that I was a "strong candidate" for the DCP. So, the next step was to schedule my phone interview. I was very nervous to say the least. But, today was my day for the phone interview. The woman on the phone was very nice and relaxed and she made be less anxious to answer her questions. She asked questions like:
Why do you want to be apart of the Disney College Program?
Give me some examples of when you had to deal with a difficult guest in past job experiences.
Give me an example of when you had to multitask.
If a child was intimidated by one of the characters at the park how would you get the child to be less afraid and happier to take pictures with that character?
If you were working at the Main Entrance, how would you make coming to the park special for each person?
How would you deal with a repetitious task - like attractions?
How do you feel about working in a team?
Do you mind working outside for long hours?
My top four choices for the DCP were:
1) Character Attendant
2) Attractions
3) Main Entrance
4) Hopper
These choices effected the questions the interviewer asked me. For instance if you chose costuming, the interviewer would most likely ask you questions about sewing and laundering.
At the end of the interview she told me that I would find out if I was accepted or not in "a couple weeks". I have heard it usually take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. My fingers are crossed! I hope I get in!
Disney 30 Day Challenge:
Day 1: Your favorite character?
Without a doubt, I would have to say Tinkerbell!
